Welcome to Acomb Primary School!
I am delighted to be Headteacher of this wonderful school, a role I’ve been privileged to hold since 2010. In that time, we’ve grown from 220 to over 320 children, yet we have never lost the friendly, community feel that makes Acomb such a special place to learn and grow.
Our motto – “Putting Children First – Always Aiming High” – runs through everything we do. It reflects our commitment to giving every child the best possible start in life, encouraging them to be ambitious, resilient, respectful and full of integrity — the values that shape our school community.
We offer an exciting and ambitious curriculum, designed not just to cover the basics brilliantly, but to give children unforgettable experiences that spark curiosity and confidence. Through our Acorns programme, every child will:

Make a difference by raising money for charity and engaging with the wider community
We believe relationships are at the heart of education. Staff, children and families work in partnership here, and open communication is a real strength. I share a weekly newsletter to keep families up to date which can be found on our News page.
