Implementation
- We follow the National Curriculum and Early Years Development Matters.
- We follow the White Rose scheme of learning (adapted for individual class needs).
- We have a progression of skills and knowledge document which also outlines the key vocabulary in each year group.
- We have a bespoke calculation policy which outlines the teaching sequence of each operation.
- We use UFOs and Fluent in Five to increase competence with calculations and key year group objectives.
- We use quality resources to scaffold and stimulate children’s learning.
- We give children the opportunity to access reasoning and problem solving at their level.
- We emphasise the learning of multiplication facts as these are the basis of good mathematical calculations.
